"Operation
Hangar"
The American Aeronautical Foundation is currently
trying to raise funds to build a hanger to get
our aircraft out of the salt air here in
Camarillo, Ca and have a permanent, indoor
facility. We are currently
looking for donations, donations-in-kind and Grants to
achieve this
goal. We have acquired 2 acres of land at the Camarillo Airport for this
project and now are awaiting the funding to bring the hangar to life.
The hangar will house our fleet of 3 current aircraft along with room for
our offices to
be brought to the flightline, combining our Flight
Scheduling, Maintenance and
aircraft under one roof.
We are in need of
your help. You, the public, are
the saviors of these great aircraft,
providing the funding to keep us
flying each year by purchasing tickets for rides, airshow
admissions,
and keeping the interest alive to share with our children.
We
are not opening a general museum hangar, but rather a maintenance hangar
with offices
to facilitate scheduling and maintaining these vintage warbirds. We are a flying
museum, and to keep the cost of preserving
these aircraft to a minimum, an
indoor "nest" is
required.
We have applied for Government Grants, but they are not
enough to cover the
costs of building. If anyone, company or
organization is interested in donating
to this great cause, please
e-mail us at john.garlinger@aafgroup.org
.
There are a many different ways we may are able to return the favor of your gift, such as offering
special ride days for you, your company or employees, we can do fly-overs at personal or corporate events
, private airshows and more. Imagine highlighting your
event with your own B-25 or C-47 for the day!
Please let us
know if you are interested in helping and we will contact you
shortly.
Additional facility information will be posted as it becomes available. |
